Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be hazardous.

"These kinds of items being offered, typically online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
